PROFILE:  Founded in 2012, the Hymowitz Family Foundation’s was established by Philadelphia Financial Managing Partner Jordan Hymowitz and his wife Sarah, vice president of protein sciences at Genentech. According to tax filings, the Hymowitz Family Foundation’s grantmaking includes support for educational and Jewish organizations.

While the foundation is not transparent and does not name particular interests, tax filing suggest the foundation gave away around $143,000 in a recent year. Past grantees include the UCSF Foundation (Sarah graduated from UCSF); Brandeis School of San Francisco; their temple, Congregation Emanu-El; Jewish Community Relations Council of San Francisco; and San Francisco General Hospital.
