PROFILE: The Hubbard Family Foundation is the foundation of Michael and Melinda Hubbard, who have lived in the Napa Valley of California for many years. Michael Hubbard visited the Napa Valley in the early 1970s and moved the headquarters of his business here in 1975. The founders are involved in the local community and hope that this foundation will be a legacy for future generations of Hubbards to follow. The foundation aims to “provide for Northern California youths, with a focus on Napa Valley-area children and the opportunity to learn music and art.” Grantmaking focuses on creating opportunities for children and youth to learn and participate in the arts.
This foundation makes grants to advance and improve upon the education of young people age 17 and younger. It regularly awards grants to local groups that expose children to the arts and entertainment. Hubbard looks for grantees that are committed to promoting children’s artistic growth and development. Additionally, the Hubbard couple funds Queen of the Valley Foundation, which supports the medical center’s regional heart center. Hubbard provides support for operating costs, established programs and start-up endeavors.
