SC Johnson Giving: Grants for Early Childhood Education

OVERVIEW: SC Johnson supports early childhood education programs across the United States.

PROFILE: Incorporate in 1959 at its world headquarters in Racine, Wisconsin, SC Johnson Giving is the philanthropic arm of the company SC Johnson. Through its grantmaking and social responsibility, SC Johnson aims to “[h]ave a positive impact on the communities in which we operate and the world at large.” While the foundation maintains a relatively broad approach, its areas of focused giving include arts, culture and humanities, community and economic development, education, health and wellness, social services and environment and sustainability.

The foundation’s education grantmaking consists of supporting programs that “[e]mphasize student achievement with a focus on academic enrichment and advancement.” This support includes but is not limited to early childhood education, K-12, post-secondary, technical schools and vocational schools.

Grant amounts typically range from $1,000 to $5,000 and are awarded to organizations that serve or directly impact communities in which the company has an operational presence.

SC Johnson accepts grant applications on a rolling basis. Grantseekers should expect a response from the foundation within 90 to 120 days of their application submission.
