PROFILE: Open Meadows Foundation supports projects led by and benefitting women and girls that further gender, racial, and economic justice. It seeks to “direct its resources towards changing the world.” It makes journalism grants to organizations with 501(c)(3) status and an operational budget of under $75,000.
The foundation’s $2000 grants prioritize small and start-up organizations. These support any type of project that benefits women and girls and reflects “the diversity of the community served by the project in both its leadership and organization.” They will not fund individuals, religious organizations, or for-profit businesses.
