This fund’s advisory committee looks to support innovative programs that address local problems. It gives priority to capacity-building activities and to new projects, as opposed to ongoing projects and programs. Funding topics of interest are broad. However, it does not support annual operating budgets, sectarian purposes, medical or academic research, endowments, or loans or assistance to individuals. The foundation also has two component funds that are field-of-interest funds that serve the needs of the county. The Cayuga Health Association Fund is a health legacy fund that addresses local health and nutrition needs. Meanwhile, the Dr. Henry Romano Fund for Children carries on the legacy of an Auburn physician and supports children with physical, mental, and developmental disabilities through treatment, early intervention, and necessary equipment.
