PROFILE: With a history dating back to 1978, the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation (CRCF) is a community foundation based in Jamestown, New York. With the help of Eugene Struckoff, a group of individuals saw a need for a community foundation to support local charitable organizations. The CRCF aims to “help donors make a positive impact on their community by establishing a ‘bridge’ between the donor and charitable activities” CRCF funds local healthcare efforts, religious organizations, scholarships and education, community and environment, arts and culture, economic development, and human services organizations.

The Chautauqua Region Community Foundation provides unrestricted community service grants to charitable projects in the Southern Chautauqua region. It also provides field-of-interest grants that are unrestricted in this region. Karl Peterson and Lynn Foundation grants are administered by CRCF and support religious organizations locally. The Falconer Region Community Fund grants support projects within the Falconer Central School District boundaries, and the John Edward McLaughlin Family Fund grants support projects in Randolph, New York.

Grants range between about $200 and $10,000. In a recent year, the funder awarded over $3.5 million to the community in grants and scholarships.
