Grants for Los Angeles and SoCal

The couple's Los Angeles grantmaking involves health and human services outfits like Cedar’s Sinai, Israel Levin Senior Center - Jewish Family Service of Los Angeles, The Rape Foundation, and Friendly House LA, which helps women find recovery from drug and alcohol addiction.

The Winklers through their foundation also support schools and youth organizations in Los Angeles. These have included Exceptional Children’s Foundation, Turning Point School, Warner Ave School, Westside Children’s School, and UCLA Foundation. One recent grant to UCLA Foundation went towards medical research.

Given the couple's long history in Hollywood, it is no surprise that the Winklers also support the arts. In Los Angeles, in fact, some of the couple's largest grants support LACMA. Other grantees include the Los Angeles Ballet and the Los Angeles Philharmonic.

The Winklers via their foundation also support Jewish organizations in Los Angeles, including Beth Jacobs Congregation in Beverly Hills, Beverly Hills Temple of the Arts: Beverly Hills Jewish Synagogue Temple, and Simon Wiesenthal Center. The family has provided support to Friends of Beverly Hills Library, Beverly Hills Police Officers’ Fund, and LA Times Foundation.
