OVERVIEW: The Michelin Corporate Foundation supports a wide range of arts organizations around the world.

IP TAKE: The foundation awards grants to organizations in regions where Michelin has a business and employee presence.

PROFILE: The Michelin Corporate Foundation was established in 2014 and is the philanthropic arm of the Michelin Group. The foundation operates under its “[s]ignature theme” of “Helping people move forward.” Grantmaking programs include Sustainable Mobility, Sport and Health, Education and the Community, Protecting the Environment and Heritage and the Arts.

Michelin does not have a grantmaking program specifically dedicated to music; however, its Heritage and the Arts program “[s]upports cultural creating and contributes to the preservation of local heritage,” and its grantmaking history indicate a strong funding interest in this space.

Grants range from a few thousand to tens of thousand. Past music grantees include Centre Lyrique Clermont-Auvergne, which received funding for its Lyrical Seasons program; and Orchestre Symphonique Des Domes, which recievd funding for its variety of artistic projects.
