Hope and Grace Initiative: Grants for Girls and Women

OVERVIEW: The Hope and Grace Initiative awards grants to organizations focusing on women’s mental health.

IP TAKE: Hope and Grace is a good resource for smaller, local, and grassroots groups.

PROFILE: The Hope and Grace Initiative is the philanthropic vehicle of the beauty care company Philosophy USA. The company directs one percent of all sales toward the fund. Hope and Grace represents an “unending commitment by Philosophy to support mental health and well-being,” calling mental health issues as “one of the greatest challenges women face.”

Hope and Grace seeks organizations that focus on promoting the mental health and well-being of women. It also funds those addressing the prevention and treatment of related mental health matters. Specific areas of interest include overcoming barriers, fighting stigma, helping women seek treatment, providing access to quality treatment, and building support networks to help women with mental illness.

The initiative awards grants to local and community-based organizations with average grant ranging from $25,000 to $75,000. The New Venture Fund manages Hope and Grace’s grantmaking and accepts grant proposals throughout Philosophy’s fiscal year of July 1 to June 31.

For more information on grant guidelines and proposal submissions, grantseekers are encouraged to contact the New Venture Fund at hopeandgracefund@newventurefund.org.
