PROFILE: Based in Stockholm, Sweden, the Futura Foundations consist of two separate and independent entities, Futura Good and Futura Green. Futura Green typically dedicates the majority of its funding to research taking place at Swedish universities and colleges. Such funding limitations do not appear to apply to Futura good. According to the foundations’ website, “Futura Good firmly believes that gender equality is not a woman’s issue, it is a human right.” Futura Good supports organizations with the “[m]ost innovative social initiative and organizations working to improve the outcomes of girls globally.”
Future Good does not name specific fields of grantmaking focus in this space; however, it appears to support organizations whose work centers on women’s health. Past grantees include Menstrual Health Hub, which received a grant for to help support its new online platform involving menstrual hygiene; and Grow and Know, which received a grant for its girls’ puberty book.
