BACKGROUND: Victor F. Ganzi graduated with a B.S. in accounting from Fordham University in 1968, a J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1971, and an L.L.M. in taxation from NYU in 1981. Ganzi was the managing partner at the international law firm of Rogers & Wells (now part of Clifford Chance). He joined Hearst Corporation in 1990, eventually becoming president and CEO.

ISSUES:

ARTS & CULTURE: The Ganzis steadily support the Whitney Museum via their foundation. Ganzi sits on the board of the Whitney and is an honorary trustee of American Museum of National History, which the family supports. Other grantees include Central Park Conservancy.

EDUCATION & YOUTH: Grantees include Concord Hill School and Madison Square Boys & Girls.

OTHER: The family has supported All About Labs Rescue and Protestant Episcopal Cathedral Foundation.

LOOKING FORWARD: Down the line, keep an eye on trustee Victoria Ganzi, who works at the family's long-running restaurant.
