Albertsons Companies Foundation: Grants for K-12 Education

OVERVIEW: The Albertsons Companies Foundation seeks out K-12 organizations that help students succeed in both school and life.

IP TAKE: Albertsons is as strong supporter of local and community led organizations.

PROFILE: The Albertsons Companies Foundation represents the philanthropic arms of the 12 current Albertsons brands such as Safeway, Vons, and Jewel Osco. The foundation is “dedicated to bettering the lives of the people in (Albertsons) neighborhoods.” It supports: Health and Human Services; Youth and Education; Supporting Diversity and Inclusion of All Abilities; Hunger; Veterans; Environmental; Health and Wellness; and Health and Nutrition.

The foundation’s Youth and Education program seeks K-12 schools and organizations that “encourage a child’s success in a safe environment and that foster learning in all subjects, including after-school activities as well as other interventions.”  The foundation specifically supports K-12 education in schools and in out-of-school organizations that “increase test scores, classroom performance and/or attendance.”

Albertsons’ education and youth grants range from $1,000 to over $400,000. The foundation awards grants to organizations located in the communities in which the Albertsons brands reflect an employee or operational presence.
