OVERVIEW: Charles Geschke and his wife Nancy move their philanthropy through the Charles M. Geschke and Nancy A. Geschke Foundation. Geschke steadily supports his schools Xavier University and Carnegie Mellon. 

BACKGROUND: Charles Geschke graduated from Xavier University and earned a Ph.D. in computer science from Carnegie Mellon University. He taught mathematics at John Carroll University from 1963 to 1968. In 1982 he co-founded Adobe Systems with John Warnock and built it into one of the world’s largest software companies.

ISSUES:           

EDUCATION & YOUTH: Geschke has steadily supported his schools Xavier University and Carnegie Mellon University. Xavier is home to the Geschke Terrace; the couple also supports scholarships at the school. Nancy has also been involved with her alma mater Marygrove College. The Geschkes have also supported the University of San Francisco, the Catholic Foundation of Santa Clara County and Magnificat and St. Ignatius high schools in Cleveland.

NANTUCKET COMMUNITY: Geschke is a trustee emeritum of Nantucket Atheneum, which the couple supports. Other grantees have included Nantucket Boys & Girls Club and The Nantucket Dreamland Foundation.
