PROFILE: Dan Hegeman is the vice chairman and serves on the board of the RHI Legacy Foundation. His professional bio shares:

Dan Hegeman is the Vice Chairman on the RHI Legacy Foundation Board. He is also the Owner & Resident Innkeeper at Carrier Houses Bed & Breakfast and a retired airline pilot of over 40 years. He has flown everything from combat helicopters for the U.S. Army to commercial airliners for Trans World and American Airlines. Dan received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from The College of Insurance (now known as St. John’s University) in New York City, before serving as a U.S. Army Warrant Officer.
Dan has been regularly involved with volunteer service over the years currently serving as Vice-Chairman for Rutherford County Tourism Development Authority Board, Chairman for the Rutherfordton Historic Preservation Commission, and Chairman for Rutherfordton Historic Preservation Commission. He is a former President of the Kiwanis Club of Rutherfordton, a past Treasurer of Rutherfordton Business Association, and a previous Pilot Peer Counselor for the Critical Incident Response Program at TWA and American Airlines.
Dan views his involvement with RHI Legacy Foundation as a way to help touch lives by offering guidance and a helping hand. He believes in the Foundation’s ability to offer guidance and financial assistance to help meet the Health and Wellness needs of residents of Rutherford County. Outside of his community involvement, Dan is a grand-parent, teacher, photographer, beekeeper, gardener, woodworker. He enjoys worshiping and serving God.
