PROFILE: The Seybert Foundation’s board of directors are active community members who volunteer their time to review applications, oversee operations and governance, and conduct site visits of partner organizations. The one staff member at the foundation is Diana Loukedis Doherty, who serves as the manager.
Doherty has been with the Seybert Foundation since 2011, and these are her primary duties:
- Manage philanthropic programming, grantmaking, grantee relations, and continuing operations.
- Facilitate the distribution of approximately $250,000-$300,000 in annual grants to direct service organizations serving children and youth in Philadelphia.
She also began serving as the foundation manager for the Dexter F. and Dorothy H. Baker Foundation in March 2014. Doherty’s bio on the foundation website shares:
As Foundation Manager, Diana serves as the primary point of contact with applicants and grantees, and manages the operations and administration of the Foundation, reporting to the Board of Directors. Diana brings more than a decade of grantmaking experience to the position and has worked with a variety of private foundations and nonprofit organizations in the greater Philadelphia region. She is a former staff member of Philanthropy Network Greater Philadelphia and served as a trustee of the Fourjay Foundation through its sunsetting in 2014. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in American Studies from Yale University and a Master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania with certificates in Urban Studies and African-American Studies. Diana values the opportunity to serve the Seybert Foundation and the community in her capacity.
