PROFILE: Lisa Downey has served as the Morgan Family Foundation’s program officer since August 2013. She previously worked at the Silicon Valley Social Venture Fund (SV2), United World Mission, and the Children’s Musical theater of San Jose.

Lisa is the Program Officer for Environment and Stewardship at the Morgan Family Foundation, and very much enjoys getting people engaged in stewarding all the resources of their communities. She is committed to supporting and driving social and environmental change that is long-lasting, inclusive and systemic.
Prior to coming to Morgan Family Foundation, Lisa was the Director of Grantmaking and Grantee Impact at SV2 (Silicon Valley Social Venture Fund), overseeing SV2's work in Education, Environment, Health, and International Development. Before that, Lisa spent 14 years living and working in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union, where she connected the dots between community leaders, nonprofits, embassies and faith-based organizations--aligning them around critical needs and innovative solutions.
Lisa is a trained facilitator and enjoys working with groups of people who care about big-picture issues--both locally and globally.
She has a “group facilitation skills” certification from Community at Work and her educational background is at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, the Monterey Institute of International Studies, and Sheffield University. Downey is the 2015-2016 co-chair for the Environmental Education Funders Collaborative
