Basic Stats (hometown, family, etc.):
Born and raised in Alabama as an only child, I have an appreciation for hard work, and I love animals and the outdoors. My academic ventures have led me on adventures in Tennessee, North Carolina and finally Arizona. Married to my high school sweetheart (12 years this year), we share a crazy household with a 7-year-old, a 5-year-old and three dogs!
First or Most Interesting Job:
Definitely not my first job, but my most interesting job was working as a waitress, for the first time at 24 years old, on the beach in St. Croix! I had finished my master’s and my husband was out of the Marines, so we sold pretty much everything we owned, packed our packs, hopped on a plane and proceeded to live in a tent for six months! Talk about an adventure!
Hobbies/Favorite Pastime:
Yoga, drinking wine and chatting with my girlfriends and husband (not at the same time though), hiking and, most recently, mountain biking. Being from Alabama, I am a huge college football fan, especially my Crimson Tide. #RollTideRoll!
Favorite Quote or Motto:
“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.” ― Albert Einstein
Guilty Pleasure:
Slipping out of work early on a Friday afternoon to meet my husband for a mountain bike ride and happy hour before picking up the kids
“When I’m not working you’ll find me”:
Walking my dogs or at the ball park watching my kids play!
