PROFILE: Natalie Blake is the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation program officer in charge of the public education program. She has been with the foundation since 2012, starting as an associate program officer and promoted in November 2015. She previously worked as a teacher at Miami Northwestern Senior High School.

Natalie Blake joined the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation in July 2012 and is the program officer who oversees the Education focus area. Natalie works with grantees and communities across the state to recruit and retain excellent leaders in education, build the public will to invest in public education and support diversity and equity in public schools. Prior to this position, Natalie was a Teach for America corps member where she taught ninth grade World History, while also earning a master’s degree in Education and Social Change at the University of Miami. Natalie previously worked as an operations manager for Citizen Schools, NC – an educational nonprofit organization that serves middle school students in low-income communities. She has also served on a congressional campaign and lived in Hawaii where she worked with special needs children conducting behavioral research. She received her bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from Wake Forest University. Natalie is a native of North Carolina.
