PROFILE: Quynh-Anh T. McMahan has been the grant officer of The George Foundation in Richmond, Texas, since April 2014.
She shares the following information about her current position:
-Oversee and administer the Foundation’s grantmaking portfolio of $12-15million by working with leadership and staff to develop strategies, policies and processes to maximize community impact.
-Direct and manage the grantmaking process to include: proposal due diligence review, contract preparation, scheduling of awards and analyzing grantee reports.
-Attend board meetings and communicate key grant information and recommendations.
-Build relationships with stakeholders to better understand how the Foundation’s financial support would impact the organization’s mission and future success.
-Supervise the administration of the Foundation’s scholarship programs.
-Represent the Foundation at community and stakeholder meetings and events.
-Supervise, develop and evaluate grant staff personnel.
Previously, McMahan was senior program officer at the Rockwell Fund, Inc., the co-founder of The Community Cloth, and an adjunct professor at the University of Houston. Her educational background is from the University of Houston, where she earned an MSW, a BA, and a BS in sociology and psychology, and a certificate in nonprofit management. She is also a founding member of Our Global Village and the Asian American Giving Circle of Greater Houston.
