PROFILE: Rachel Bers is the Program Director at The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts. She is also a practicing artist whose work spans printmaking, large-scale collage, and sculptural installation. She was involved for many years as the art editor of Aufgabe, a journal of poetry, poetics, and translation.

Before joining Warhol in 2005, Bers worked at Printed Matter, the nonprofit organization dedicated to publications by artists, where, among other things, she helped libraries around the country build their artist book collections, and was a visiting critic at a variety of universities and art schools. Before that, with a recent MFA from the Rhode Island School of Design, she taught printmaking and book making at the college level. She holds an undergraduate degree in Semiotics and French from Brown University.
