PROFILE: Rebecca Byrne is the president and CEO of the Community Foundation of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama. She has been in this position since March 2014 and previously worked as the executive director of the United Way of Baldwin County. She has a BA from Auburn University.

Under her leadership at UWBC since April 2009, Byrne reorganized and fostered unity after the merger of North Baldwin United Way and South Baldwin United Way. In her five years leading the organization, she increased giving during the recession and BP oil spill. During her tenure, Byrne attracted new grants totaling more than $700,000 beyond regular giving.
Also during her time with United Way, Byrne reduced administrative costs by more than 50 percent, increased overall allocations to partner agencies focusing on programs addressing education, health, and financial stability, and launched the Young Leaders Society to enhance participation among young professionals.
Byrne is a graduate of Leadership Alabama and Leadership Mobile. A member of St. James Episcopal Church, she and her husband U.S. Rep. Bradley Byrne (@RepByrne) have four adult children – Patrick, Kathleen, Laura and Colin.
