PROFILE: Tina Walters is the grants director of the James Graham Brown Foundation and the best point of contact for grantseekers in Kentucky. She has been with the foundation since August 2013, and describes her job responsibilities as follows:
Strategically manage philanthropic investments for the foundation. Develop annual action plan, execute the plan and provide program reports and briefing papers as necessary.
Maintain a deep knowledge of community development activities with strong understanding of the needs and resources of low to moderate income communities.
Walters previously worked as the vice president of global philanthropy for JPMorgan Chase for 22 years. Her professional bio shares:
Tina came to the Foundation in the summer of 2013 from the JPMorgan Chase Foundation, where she was Vice President of Philanthropy for Kentucky and Indiana. In that role she managed the strategic neighborhood revitalization work on Indianapolis’ Near Eastside which was featured during the 2013 Super Bowl pregame broadcast and the partnership in Louisville’s Smoketown and Shelby Park neighborhoods which received the Partners in Philanthropy Award for Innovative Partnership. Tina serves on the One West Board and is currently president of the Donors Forum of Kentuckiana. She has an MBA and undergraduate degree from Bellarmine University. She has served on the boards of Women for Women, the Southern Indiana Asset Building Coalition, LISC, and the Super Bowl Housing Committee in Indianapolis. Tina is a member of Business First’s 40 Under 40.
