PROFILE: Established in 1975, the Adolph Coors Foundation is a private foundation based in Denver, Colorado. This is the foundation of Bill and Joe Coors, who created it from the estate of Adolph Coors, Jr. (1884-1970). German-American brewer Adolph Herman Joseph Coors Sr. founded the Adolph Coors Company in Golden, Colorado. Adolph Coors Jr. was the second president of the beer company. The Coors Foundation seeks to “promote the western values of self-reliance, personal responsibility and integrity.” It aims to make Colorado a land of opportunity for all people and funds local efforts for youth, adult work programs, entrepreneurship, integrative medicine and public policy.

The Adolph Coors Foundation supports youth and youth development causes that include one-on-one mentoring, academic tutoring, character development, leadership, STEM education and financial literacy. Adult work program support includes paid on-the-job training, vocational training and job placement. Public policy grants fund analysis of the free enterprise system, preserving democracy, upholding personal responsibility, leadership, and American values. Grants for entrepreneurship and integrative medicine are by invitation only.
