PROFILE: Established in 2002, the Henderson Community Foundation (HCF) is a community funder based in Henderson, Nevada. A group of local civic-minded professionals in Southern Nevada came together to address needs in the community when creating this foundation, and the founding board members were past graduates of a Henderson Chamber of Commerce program called Leadership Henderson. HCF aims to “provide resources and support to improve the health, education, and quality of life in the community.” HCF funds local efforts for children and youth, seniors, human services, hunger, education, homelessness, violence prevention, and more.

Grants for Community Development, Housing and Homelessness, and Violence Prevention

The Henderson Community Foundation has a competitive grants program that awards unrestricted funds to current and evolving needs. This is in addition to donor fund grantmaking. The competitive grant program has a broad approach to funding, and nearly any nonprofit need can be considered if it improves the quality of life for local residents.

Past local grantees include Dr. Joel & Carol Bower School-Based Health Center, Desert Winds, Friends of Henderson Parks & Recreation, and Hannah’s Ranch.
