OVERVIEW: Anthony and Nanar Yoseloff and family conduct their philanthropy through the Anthony A. Yoseloff Foundation. Available tax filings reveal that the foundation awarded $1.66 million in grants in 2017. Their giving is often tied to education, including schools with which family members have a connection.

BACKGROUND: Anthony Yoseloff graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Princeton University in 1996 and received his J.D. and MBA degrees from Columbia in 1999. He joined Davidson Kempner Capital Management LP in 1999 and is currently the co-Executive Managing Member. Yoseloff’s family has been in the publishing business for 80 years, and owns Rosemont Publishing & Printing Co., Associated University Presses, and A.S. Barnes & Co.

ISSUES:

EDUCATION & YOUTH: Yoseloff is a director of DonorsChoose, a charity that gives the public a simple, accountable, and personal way to address educational inequity, and he serves on the board of Leadership Enterprise for a Diverse America (LEDA), which helps high-achieving students from low-income backgrounds gain admission to selective colleges and then supports their collegiate careers. The couple focuses on libraries and reading in the public schools through DonorsChoose. They have also supported financial literacy efforts. Other grantees include Chapin School, Columbia University, All Souls School, Trinity School, and East Brunswick Education Foundation. The family has ties to New Jersey.

Princeton is home to Yoseloff Hall, and the family has supported Nanar's alma mater Bryn Mawr College, home to the Nanar and Anthony Yoseloff Endowed Scholarship Fund. The Yoseloffs support athletic organizations, such as Society for American Baseball Research (SABR), and they fund scholarships to high school and college students who wish to attend the SABR Analytics Conference.

ARTS & CULTURE: Yoseloff is on the board of New York Public Library. The family funds the American Museum of Natural HistoryCentral Park Conservancy, and Friends of the High Line

LOOKING FORWARD: Yoseloff is still very much engaged in business, but expect the family's strong interest in education to continue. The couple's involvement through DonorsChoose might also be a way for grantseekers to get their attention.
