BACKGROUND: A third-generation Montanan, David M. Leuschen received an A.B. from Dartmouth and an MBA from Dartmouth’s Amos Tuck School of Business. Leuschen was a partner and managing director at Goldman Sachs and founder and head of the Goldman Sachs global energy and power group. In 2000, Leuschen left Goldman to form his own energy investment firm, Riverstone Holdings.

Initially, the foundation was focused on supporting Montana and Wyoming students who wanted to attend Dartmouth and the Tuck School of Business, Leuschen’s alma mater.
