OVERVIEW: Kenneth and Tracey Pontarelli do not appear to have a formal charitable vehicle. Pontarelli supports his alma mater Syracuse University.

BACKGROUND: Kenneth A. Pontarelli graduated from Syracuse University with a dual degree in economics and finance, and got his M.B.A/ from Harvard University. He worked for Goldman Sachs, first in investment banking and later in the company’s Merchant Banking Division. He was a partner of the company. Pontarelli went on to found Mission Driven Capital Partners and Pontarelli Investment Partners

ISSUES:

EDUCATION & YOUTH: Pontarelli supports his alma mater Syracuse University, where he sits on the advisory board at the Whitman School of Management. The couple recently made a gift to fund a new professorship focused on research and teaching in the area of environmental sustainability and finance, based in the Maxwell School. Pontarelli has also supported Harvard Business School and Child Mind Institute.

OTHER: The Pontarellis have supported the Museum of the City of New York, where they gave at least $250,000 in the 2015 fiscal year.

LOOKING FORWARD: Perhaps the family will establish a family foundation in the coming years and deepen their giving.
