OVERVIEW: In 1994, Toner endowed The Isdell Foundation which currently has substantial programs supporting environmental programs and Tibetan self-determination. According to available tax filings, the foundation awarded $202,000 in grants in 2017. Kevin Toner sits on the board of Earthjustice. 

BACKGROUND: Born in Dublin, Ireland, in 1964, Kevin Toner graduated from Columbia University in 1986 with a B.A. in economics. He was a managing director at UBS Securities. In 1997, Toner cofounded Aristeia Capital, which invests in alternative strategies for U.S. and offshore individuals and institutions. 

ISSUES:

ENVIRONMENT: Toner supports and sits on the board of Earthjustice. Other grantees have included Open Space Institute and Crow Creek Conservation Alliance.

TIBET: Isdell Foundation Executive Director Yodon Thonden serves on the board of directors of The Tibet Fund, and plays a leading role in this area. The couple supports The Tibet Fund, as well as Buddhist Film FoundationTibetan Community Development FundStudents for a Free Tibet, and Tibet Justice Center

ARTS: Grantees have included Nikita Productions, which produces theater and film; and LilySarahGraceFund, which is "committed to supporting teachers in underfunded public elementary schools to reach all learners through the arts."
