OVERVIEW: Todd Snyder and Phoebe Boyer move their philanthropy through the Boyer-Snyder Family Foundation, which according to available tax filings, gave away a little under $310,000 in 2017. Phoebe is president and CEO of Children's Aid, which the family supports. The couple also support their schools. Other interests include health and human services.

BACKGROUND: Todd R. Snyder graduated from Wesleyan University and received a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. Snyder practiced law in the Business Reorganization department of Weil, Gotshal & Manges. He moved on to investment banking and is the former executive vice chairman of North American Global Financial Advisory and co-head of the debt and restructuring group at Rothschild, Inc., where he was also senior managing director. 

ISSUES:

EDUCATION & YOUTH: Phoebe Boyer serves as the 11th president and CEO of Children's Aid, which helps children in poverty to succeed and thrive "by providing comprehensive supports to children, youth, and their families in targeted high-needs New York City neighborhoods." Phoebe has long been engaged in the nonprofit world and was executive director of the both the Robertson Foundation and the Tiger Foundation.  She also worked at Inwood House, a nonprofit in Upper Manhattan, where she spent four years helping distressed teens take charge of their lives. 

The couple support their mutual alma mater Wesleyan University, and have helped fund scholarships. Other grantees have included Columbia Business School (Phoebe received her MBA from the school), Friends of Rodeph Sholom School, Dwight Englewood School, and Hopkins School.

HEALTH & HUMAN SERVICES: The couple have steadily supported Bowery Residents' Committee (BRC), which provides housing and services to thousands of vulnerable New Yorkers. Other grantees have included Planned Parenthood of NYC, Bergen Family Services, Alzheimer's Association, Lyme Ambulance Association, and Mount Desert Island Biological Laboratory. 

OTHER: Other grantees have included Central Park Conservancy and New York Public Radio.

LOOKING FORWARD: Perhaps greater sums will go to the family's established interest areas. Phoebe, a nonprofit veteran, should be watched for future directions.
