BACKGROUND: Richard H. Frank has a B.S. in mechanical engineering from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and an M.S. from MIT Sloan. He worked at World Bank Group as managing director overseeing the South Asia and Latin America operations and chaired the Banks Finance Committee. In 1997, he joined Darby Overseas Investments, where he is president and CEO.

EDUCATION & YOUTH: The family supports Georgetown University, where several Frank family members graduated. Irma Frank is Senior Associate Dean for International Programs at Georgetown University Medical School and chairs the International Programs Committee. Other grantees include the Isabella & Ferdinand Academia de Espanol, and Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogota towards dental scholarships. Irma graduated from the Colombia-based school.

HEALTH: Grantees include American Heart Association and Children’s National Health System.

ARTS & CULTURE: The family has supported Washington Ballet and Choral Arts Society of Washington.
