BACKGROUND: John T. Lykouretzos graduated from Yale University with a B.A. in Economics and International Studies. He began his career at Goldman Sachs, spent three years as an analyst and portfolio manager at Viking Global Investors, and also worked at Tiger Management as an industrials analyst. In 2003, he founded Hoplite Capital Management, L.P.

Joella Lykouretzos graduated from the University of Illinois and received an MBA from Harvard in 2001. She worked at Goldman Sachs and launched Hoplite Capital Management LLC with her husband.

ISSUES:

EDUCATION & YOUTH: The couple have supported iMentor, which builds mentoring relationships that empower first-generation students from low-income communities to graduate high school, succeed in college, and achieve their ambitions.” Lykouretzos sits on the board of the nonprofit. The Lykouretzos family have supported Joella’s school University of Illinois.

NYC COMMUNITY: Lykouretzos is on the board of American Museum of Natural History, which the family supports. He is also co-chair of the Tiger Foundation, which works to break the cycle of poverty in New York City.

OTHER: The couple have directed funds to Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.

LOOKING FORWARD: The couple are still deeply engaged in business but should be watched for greater giving down the line. Education and youth organizations are something to watch in particular.
