BACKGROUND: Tom Israel graduated from Yale University in 1966. Israel served as CFO for ACLI International Incorporated, a worldwide commodity import/export company that was acquired by Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette in 1981. Israel is chairman and CEO of Ingleside Investors (aka A.C. Israel Enterprises, Inc.), a family holding company specializing in private investments.

EDUCATION & YOUTH: Israel supports his alma mater Yale University, including Yale Center for British Art and Yale School of Medicine. Israel is an associate of the Yale Child Study Center and on the dean’s council of the Yale Medical School. Other grantees have included Brunswick School, Columbia Business School, UCLA Foundation, Wellesley College, and Wheaton College. Israel strongly supports his school Phillips Academy, where he has been a trustee and treasurer.

HEALTH & HUMAN SERVICES: Grantees have included Scripps Health Foundation, Montefiore Medical Center, Eisenhower Medical Center Foundation, Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center, Lung Cancer Alliance, East Side House Settlement, and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

OTHER: Israel and family have supported animal organizations such as All American Dachshund Rescue. They have also supported Jewish and other religious organizations such as Hebrew Free Burial Association, Jewish Federation of Palm Springs and Desert Area, and St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church. In arts and culture, they have supported The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens in California, The Frick Collection, and The Whitney.
