PROFILE: Lauren Krieg serves as the program officer for the Leo S. Guthman Foundation. Leo passed away in 2003, and his two daughters serve as the foundation trustees. Krieg is the vice president of Iris Krieg & Associates, a professional philanthropic advisory service. Her bio shares:

With a background in education and 10 years as a classroom teacher, Lauren has a strong understanding and interest in education and children's issues. Through her diverse responsibilities at Iris Krieg & Associates, Inc., she has garnered experience across a broad array of giving areas including arts and culture and social services as well as different models of grantmaking. Lauren goes the extra mile to ensure that each client's needs are met and that she stays abreast of emerging strategies in philanthropy. She has assisted IKA clients in designing new grantmaking guidelines and manages the day-to-day actvities of multiple foundations. Lauren has an undergraduate degree from Bryn Mawr College in Spanish and anthropology and a Masters degree from Framingham State College in educational leadership.

She has been a senior program officer at the Bright Promises Foundation and a program officer for the Albert Pick Jr. Fund as well. She taught at Blue Valley School in San Jose, Costa Rica between 1998 and 2008.
