PROFILE: Established in 2012, the Cresap Family Foundation (CFF) is a family foundation based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The foundation formed when Premium Beers of Oklahoma, a family business and a large Anheuser-Busch distributor, was sold. The Cresap family’s history of giving dates back to 1968 when the self-made auto dealer bought a distributorship. The foundation aims to “further the philanthropic legacy of the Cresap Family by improving the quality of life of Oklahoman’s and beyond.” CFF funds local efforts for youth and families, health and wellness, education, arts and humanities and animal welfare.

The Cresap Family Foundation looks to help people that are most in need in their home community. CFF has broad funding interests but keeps its giving near where the family has lived and where the family company operated. Overall, the most CFF grants go towards human services causes. Other top-funded categories are community development and education. Grants commonly go to youth centers, museums, food banks and medical foundations. Site visits are common with this funder after it awards grants.

Grants range between about $500 and $50,000. In a recent year, CFF awarded over $1.3 million in total grants. Learn more about this funder’s local giving by examining its recent tax records. Grantmaking focuses on the areas where Premium Beers operated, including the following:  Oklahoma Canadian, Grady, Cleveland, Logan, Pottawatomie, Lincoln and the following counties on Northeast Oklahoma: Craig, Delaware, Mayes, Nowata, Osage, Ottawa and Washington. Past local grantees include the Eastern Trails Museum, Mental Health Association of Oklahoma and CASA of Oklahoma County.
