PROFILE: Established in 1985, the Royce Family Fund (RFF) is a family foundation based in Greenwich, Connecticut. This is the foundation of Charles M. Royce, a small-cap investor and millionaire who has been a portfolio manager since 1972 for Royce Investment Partners and is the president of Royce & Associates. He is married to Deborah Goodrich Royce, a filmmaker and actress. Nicholas Moore, who runs a consulting service, also serves as a foundation officer as the secretary. RFF funds local efforts for higher education, arts and culture, film, human services churches and religion.

The Royce Family Fund Foundation does not have a website to guide grantseekers. However, past tax records indicate that RFF supports many different efforts in local Tri-State Area communities. It commonly funds botanical gardens, day schools, Episcopal religious causes and preservation societies. RFF also awards grants to Boys and Girls Clubs, universities, music schools, public radio and volunteer fire departments. Film organizations receive RFF support due to Deborah Royce’s involvement with the film industry, as well as well-established performing arts centers and museums.

Grants range between about $1,000 and $500,000. RFF has awarded over $5 million annually in grants lately. Learn more about this funder’s local giving by examining its recent tax records.
