Philosophy/Approach: When donors are deeply engaged in the issues they care about and disciplined in their giving, they help the organizations they support become stronger and better able to support intended beneficiaries, thus creating lasting change. Our approach is to work with donors to understand the issues, build strong relationships with stakeholders, develop actionable strategies and assess progress toward impact. Credo looks to build an ongoing relationship with our donor clients, assisting with implementation and fine-tuning of the plans and approaches crafted in consultation with them. Many of our engagements, therefore, continue for three months or longer, depending on our client’s needs.

Specialization: We specialize in tailored support to donors engaged in strategic charitable giving (for example, private foundations, corporations, community foundations and individuals) across social sectors. We leverage our extensive experience in the non-profit, legal and business sectors to help our clients make informed decisions about their giving. We have worked with grant making organizations and service providers in the areas of education, health care, social services, public media, community development and the arts.

Tracy and Maurice worked closely with us over several years and understood us and our unique culture as a family-led foundation. Credo is relationship-focused, not transactional, and they used their insights about us to help us improve our governance and advance our strategic direction. We are stronger and more effective as a result of our partnership with Credo.
