OVERVIEW: The Community Foundation of Grundy County supports education, youth, health, human services, emergency services and other community needs in Illinois.

PROFILE: Established in 1999, the Community Foundation of Grundy County (CFGC) is a community foundation based in Morris, Illinois. The foundation began with a generous grant from the estate of George H. Baum. The foundation aims to "provide vision for Grundy County in order to preserve and enhance our quality of life.” CFGC funds local efforts for education, youth, health, human services, emergency services and other community needs.

The Community Foundation of Grundy County administers donor-advised funds, designated funds, field of interest funds, scholarship funds and agency endowments. Nonprofits can apply for grants from CFGC’s unrestricted funds. Additionally, CFGC often passes applications that it receives along to its donor fund-holders for their consideration. It also allows nonprofits to use space in its new Gardner office.

Grants range between about $300 and $5,000. Grantmaking focuses on the Morris area and Grundy County in Illinois.
