PROFILE:  Founded in 2013, the Nolan Family Foundation was established by financier Peter Nolan and his wife Stephanie. While the foundation is not transparent and does not maintain a public web presence, tax filings suggest that the Nolan Family Foundation’s grantmaking includes support for educational and social services organizations in Southern California.

Grants for Education and Los Angeles and SoCal

The Nolans steadily support their mutual alma mater Cornell University, from where several other Nolans graduated as well. Much of the family’s other giving occurs in Southern California where Nolan has held roles such as a first vice president in corporate finance at Drexel, Burnham, Lambert in Beverly Hills (now Credit Suisse) Los Angeles Investment Banking Division.

Past grantees include Catholic Charities of Los Angeles, The UCLA Foundation, Loyola High School, Lupus L.A., Friends of St. Lawrence Watts Youth Center, and Catholic Education Foundation. Catholic education seems to be of particular interest.

Important Grant Details
