PROFILE: Established in 2008, the Rise Up Foundation was founded by author Wendy Alane Adams. Wendy joined the family business, Adams Steel, where she was CFO spending twenty years overseeing the growth of the business as it transformed from a small family business to SA Recycling LLC. She’s since gone on to author books for tweens and middle-grade readers. Grants for Education and Youth

Rise Up supports literacy projects as a path toward improving the future prospects of children in underserved communities by making book donations, providing classroom support, and grantmaking. To date, Rise Up Foundation has donated over $650,000 in grants, classroom supplies, new books, and other funding to schools and teachers in need. The foundation’s efforts are directed at elementary schools through middle grade with a special interest in grades 6-8. In addition to literacy, the foundation works with organizations committed to defining and solving the problems that chronic poverty brings to children and their communities.

On a global front, Rise Up has made significant contributions towards international children’s humanitarian groups like UNICEF.

Grants for Disaster Relief

Rise Up also earmarks funds for disaster relief, partnering with First Book and donating $225,000 in new books and relief funds to schools impacted by natural disasters in Northern California, Houston, and the Panhandle region of Florida.
