Jessica Alba and Cash Warren

SOURCE OF WEALTH: Actor, Producer

FUNDING AREAS: Human Services & Criminal Justice, TBD

OVERVIEW: Jessica Alba and Cash Warren do not appear to have a formal family foundation. The couple’s companies have a mission-driven element. They also have shown an interest in criminal justice reform.

BACKGROUND: Born in Pomona, California, Jessica Alba graduated began studying acting in her teens. She appeared on the big screen for the first time in the 1994 film Camp Nowhere. Alba later starred in two installments of a big screen adaptation of Fantastic Four, and collaborated with Robert Rodriguez for multiple films. She returned to a regular TV gig in 2019 with L.A.'s Finest. In 2011, Alba co-founded The Honest Company, a wellness brand that sells semi-natural baby, personal and household products. Alba will also star in and executive produce a new documentary series for Disney+ titled "Parenting Without Borders" (working title), which will focus on families from around the world.

ISSUES:

HUMAN SERVICES & CRIMINAL JUSTICE: Jessica Alba serves on the board of Baby2Baby in Los Angeles, which the couple has steadily supported throughout the years. The nonprofit works with children living in poverty to provide basic necessities like diapers.

Cash Warren, in partnership with Madonna and her Ray of Light Foundation, as well as other organizations, helped send masks to more prison facilities to protect inmates and prison staff. The couple recently started working with REFORM Alliance, whose mission is to “dramatically reduce the number of people who are unjustly under the control of the criminal justice system – starting with probation and parole.” The couple have also been involved with LIFT, the anti-poverty organization, and V-Day.

Jessica Alba’s Honest Company has donated more than 18.4 million diapers and 2.2 million in personal care, cleaning, and more since its inception. And Cash Warren’s Pair of Thieves engages in human services work, as well.

LOOKING AHEAD: In their 40s, the Hollywood couple are still engaged in business, but perhaps giving will ramp up in the coming years through a family foundation.
