OVERVIEW: The Child Neurology Foundation supports research in child neurology by medial students and early-career researchers.

PROFILE: The Child Neurology Foundation was established in 2001 by one of the country’s first pediatric neurologists, Dr. Kenneth Swaiman. The foundation is an outgrowth of Swaiman’s Child Neurology Society, which he founded in the early 1970s as a “collaborative center of education and support for caregivers and their children with neurological conditions.” The CNF has a number of initiatives aimed at public awareness, support for families, conferences and seminars, and research grants.

Neuroscience Grants

CNF’s Research Grants have awarded “over 3.5 million dollars to the research endeavors of over 70 young investigators, aimed at identifying treatments and cures for pediatric neurologic diseases.” The foundation currently runs programs for pediatric neurologists, as well as medical students:
