PROFILE: Established in 1997, the Jasper Community Foundation (JCF) is a community foundation based in Newton, Iowa. Individuals, corporations and other organizations make gifts to JCF to improve the quality of life of local residents here. JCF funds local efforts for arts and culture, economic development, education, environment, health, human services, recreation and other community needs.

The Jasper Community Foundation has broad interests and is flexible with its funding interests based upon current local needs. JCF typically awards around 25 grants per year to local groups. Past funding has gone towards art centers, public libraries, art festivals, historical societies, animal rescues, food banks and trail organizations. The amount of funds available for grants varies by the year. JCF funds programs and capital projects but does not support annual operating budgets. Approved projects should be completed within six months of receiving a JCF grant.
