PROFILE: Established in 1996, the Emporia Community Foundation (ECF) is a community foundation based in Emporia, Kansas. It is an organization that connects citizens and communities in the region to better the lives of people who live here. The foundation aims to "connect caring people with causes that build stronger communities within the Emporia area which includes Chase, Coffey, Greenwood, Lyon, Morris, Osage and Wabaunsee counties.” It funds local efforts for health, human services, education, recreation, arts and culture, youth and safety.

The Emporia Community Foundation is a responsive and proactive community grantmaker that addresses both existing and emerging community issues. ECF grants go towards a wide variety of issues and awarded once per year. The 79 Fund is dedicated to improving the lives of local children. The Emporia Public School Endowment Fund is a funding resource for local teachers, and the Sadie Jones Fund assists children with vision and hearing special needs. The Chase County Community Fund at ECF focuses on the quality of life for Chase County residents, and the Trusler Foundation awards grants for various purposes to continue the philanthropic legacy of Harold and Irene Trusler. The Earl & Stelouise Sauder Youth Assistance Fund supports efforts for children, and the Growing Greenwood Fund serves the Greenwood County area.
