PROFILE: Established in 2008, Emerging Philanthropists of New Orleans (EPNO) is a giving circle based in New Orleans, Louisiana. EPNO was first conceived and created following a 504ward Dine Around and first called the Crescent Civic Engagement Fund. The foundation aims to "inspire and educate young leaders to become effective, lifelong philanthropists, impact Greater New Orleans through granting funds to organizations tackling some of our toughest problems and connect local emerging leaders with each other, nonprofits and the greater community.” It funds local efforts for housing, youth, economic and workforce development, arts and culture, education, environment and healthcare.

Emerging Philanthropists of New Orleans receives support from various foundations that are focused on New Orleans, including the Greater New Orleans Foundation and the Patrick F. Taylor Foundation. Other supporters are the New Orleans Business Alliance, Holley Pavey Foundation and the Leviton Foundation. The Greater New Orleans Foundation is a founding partner of EPNO. This is a group that brings young people together who are interested in working together to bring about change. EPNO provides flexible funding for new organizations, direct services, general operating support and for underserved populations. Funding areas are broad and have also addressed the topics of juvenile justice, racial equity, poverty alleviation, women’s issues and crime and public safety.
