Grants for Wildlife and Aminal Welfare, Arts and Culture, Environment, Climate Change and Clean Energy, K-12 Education, Higher Education, Public Health and Access, Housing and Homelessness, and Community Development

The Community Foundation of Western Nevada launched its community endowment in 2019 to serve as a permanent resource for Nevada. It has been particularly interested in affordable housing, homelessness, youth, family caregivers, and youth philanthropy lately. On its website, CFWN lists nonprofit organizations that participate in its Nonprofit Connections program in each topic area. This is a way for local nonprofits to get exposure among donors and secure possible funding for the future. CFWN prefers to fund groups that have both short-term and long-term goals in mind and that incorporate collaborative partners.

Past local grantees include Domestic Violence Resource Center, Note-Ables Music Therapy Services, and Urban Roots.

The foundation also created a COVID-19 Response Fund to support the community during the coronavirus pandemic.
