The company’s history dates back to 1960 and has since expanded its footprint to other regions of the country beyond just Nevada. Profits generated by the company employees funded the foundation, which has benefited hundreds of nonprofits and thousands of families. Past local grantees include Northern Nevada Food Bank, Nevada Opera Foundation, and the Boys & Girls Club of Western Nevada.

Grants range between about $500 and $3,000. Grantmaking largely focuses on the Reno area of Nevada. Other areas that the company has a presence and an interest in grantmaking are Morristown, New Jersey; Des Plaines, Illinois; Phoenix, Arizona; Newport Beach, California; Bellevue, Washington; and Atlanta, Georgia.
This foundation accepts unsolicited grant applications from nonprofits. Grant seekers should contact the foundation directly to request an application. Grant cycle is June 1st through August 1st annually. It makes final determinations in November.
