PROFILE: Established in 2015, the Valley View Foundation (VVF) is a health legacy foundation based in Ada, Oklahoma. The foundation’s history dates back to 1935 when community leaders formed a community hospital corporate structure that became Valley View Hospital. After a 40-year lease was approved and Mercy Hospital Ada formed, Valley View Hospital Corporation formed and later changed its name to Valley View Health and Wellness Foundation and finally the Valley View Foundation in 2017. Today, FFV is managed by an Oklahoma-based company called Foundation Management. The foundation aims to "promote and improve the health and wellness of the residents of the city of Ada and surrounding areas with an emphasis in Pontotoc County.” It funds local efforts for disease prevention, immediate health needs, seed and matching money to leverage healthcare projects and healthcare education.

The Valley View Foundation is solely dedicated to the health and wellness needs of the community it is based in. VVF often provides funding for hospital infrastructure. However, it does not fund direct scholarships, individual faith congregations for denominational purposes, endowments, individuals or organizations that determine the purpose or recipient of the grant. Past VVF grants have gone to schools, addiction centers, homeless services and health foundations.

Grants range between about $10,000 and $100,000. Learn more about this funder’s local giving by examining its recent tax records. Grantmaking focuses on Ada, Oklahoma and Pontotoc County in Oklahoma. Past local grantees include the Pontotoc Technology Center, South OK Addiction and Calvin Schools.

This foundation accepts unsolicited letters of inquiry from nonprofits. The LOI deadline is December 1, and the grant application deadline is March 1. Direct general questions to Kari Blakley on the Foundation Management staff at kblakley@fmiokc.com or 405-755-5571.
