PROFILE: Established in 2012, the LGBTQ Community Fund is an interest-specific fund held at the Community Foundation of Utah in Salt Lake City. The fund got its start with a $50,000 challenge grant that helped find a transitional home for gay and transgender men living on the street. The fund launched a competitive grant process in 2013. It aims to “unite LGBTQ giving by leveraging individual gifts to create a meaningful impact” and to “strengthen Utah’s LGBTQ community and our state as a whole.” The fund supports local efforts that aid LGBTQ people in the region.
