PROFILE: Established in 1954, the Lindberg Foundation Trust (LFT) is a private foundation that was created by W.H. Lindberg and Isabel P. Lindberg. The Lindbergs were residents of Pierce County, Washington and supported charitable organizations during their lifetime. They were art collectors whose paintings and drawings are displayed in the Tacoma Art Museum. Mr. Lindberg died in 1971 and Mrs. Lindberg in 1982. This foundation is managed by Wells Fargo Bank, which offers philanthropic services for private foundations and serves as the foundation’s trustee. The foundation aims to “support a variety of charitable causes in the state of Washington.” LFT funds local efforts for arts and culture, education, environment, animal welfare, health, human services and religion.

The Lindberg Foundation Trust has very broad interests and supports many different types of local organizations in the state. Nearly any type of nonprofit organization can seek support from LFT because it does not have strict limits on what it funds. Grantmaking often focuses on local youth organizations and programs that help youth achieve academic success. Emergency food resources, healthy food, dental care for children, arts initiatives for youth and scholarships are also topics of interest for LFT.
