PROFILE: Established in 2000, the Soaring Eagle Foundation (SEF) is a 501(c)(3) corporation based in Seattle, Washington. There are five members on the SEF board of directors, but this group may expand in the future. The foundation aims to "demonstrate respect for and honor the service which these men and women have given to our nation.” SEF supports local efforts for veterans and affordable housing.

The Soaring Eagle Foundation works with the McChord Air Force Base, Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs and local social services agencies to coordinate its efforts. It has a referral and home selection program that helps veterans find housing stability and get support for household expenses. SEF also works in the realm of property acquisition and management to offer single-family homes for veterans and their families. In addition to housing, SEF is interested in therapy, counseling, health services, and other needs of veterans in the community.
